Organized by the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), through the Office for ICT Innovation and Entrepreneurship (OIIE), the FutureHack challenge is designed in collaboration with ICT hubs, Industries, Ministries, Departments, and Agencies(MDAs) to target technology start-ups and challenge their skills and entrepreneurial talent to build a digital economy focused on innovation to improve economic prospects for Nigerians. Also to “develop and grow a global network of ICT expertise comprising Nigerian youths within, and in diaspora”.
This edition is themed, OPPORTUNITIES AND CHALLENGES IN COMBATING CYBERCRIME, and on 2nd – 3rd March 2020, innovator teams from the entire South-South Region will assemble together, and for the next 48hours be expected to collaborate intensively on projects, including a coding competition where software developers, interface designers, graphic designers, domain experts, and other creatives alike will come up with concepts with unique and relevant solutions.
VENUE: Centre for Information and Telecommunication Engineering, University of Port Harcourt (Uniport), Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Start-up teams with approved results will win cash prizes, and be mentored under the wings of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA). They also stand the chance of having their solution prototype adopted and carried out by agencies, institutions, and ministries.
