Venture Platforms has revealed plans to launch a university program to partner with universities and also to partner with hubs in the southern region.

This was made known by Kola Aina, the CEO Ventures Platform at the just concluded Startup South Community stakeholders Forum in Imo State. Also, Startups accepted into the Ventures Platform  Accelerator program will now receive $40,000.

Mr. Aina stated that the sum which was increased from the inital $20,000 would still be offered for a 10% equity. However, equity taken by Venture Platform may increase to 13% where special need arises. He reiterated however, that the goal was not to own the companies but to fund the companies with good models.

According to Kola Aina, the Accelerator program will now proceed on a follow up investment, where the start-ups have an impressive performance

Ventures Platform is a start-up launchpad, that offers incubation, co-working spaces, and everything start-ups need in the early stages. Applications for cohort 3 is currently ongoing. You can find more details here or apply here
