Finally, one of the most anticipated mobile devices of 2017 has been unveiled – the Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 plus. Specifications, pictures and also the price of the phone has been made available officially by Apple.
The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus are upgrades to some of the main features found on Apple’s current products, the iphone 7 and 7 plus. The iPhone 8 was thought to be Apple’s main new phone for its 10th anniversary but it released the 8 plus. It alos released the iphone X as part of its 10th anniversary celebrations, whose ID unlock failed at the grand unveiling earlier this week. Watch it below
Here is a review of some of the most interesting features-
The iPhone 8 just like its predecessor, maintained all the various network bands ranging from 2G, 3G and 4G. Be rest assured of a blazing network speed, this may vary depending on your network provider
Just like the iPhone 7, the iPhone 8 comes with a 4.7 LED-backlit IPS LCD, capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors with 1080 x 1920 pixels while the iPhone 8 Plus is slightly bigger with a 5.5 inch screen.
Due to the additional features of the iPhone 8, it weighs slightly more compared to its predecessor (138g to 148g). The iPhone 8 plus weighs 202g. Both devices use a Nano SIM, IP67 certified, dust and water resistant. Water resistant up to 1 meter in depth and 30 minutes in duration.
The Apple Pay (Visa, MasterCard, AMEX certified) was also retained from its predecessor.
Apple launched its iOS 11 Operating System with its new iPhone 8/8 Plus with its new Apple A11 Bionic Chipset. Also included was a Hexa-core processor (6 cores) compared to its predecessor which ran on a Quad-core processor (4 cores)
Simply put, we should expect more speed/optimal performance from the new iPhone 8/8 Plus
The iPhone 8/8 Plus will both boast of an internal memory of 64/256 GB with a RAM of 2GB for the iPhone 8 and 3GB for the iPhone 8 Plus. No card slot was added to both devices.
The iPhone 8/8 Plus both have a Dual 12 MP Rear camera, equipped with a with Optical Image Stabilization, phase detection, autofocus, 2x optical zoom and quad-LED (dual tone) flash. Most likely the best camera in its generation. Perfect for both low light and day light photos, It also boasts a wider dynamic range and better noise reduction, which means you should get clearer, brighter and more colorful shots and videos.
Both devices are also equipped with a 7MP front camera with face detection, HDR and panorama. Great for Selfies.

The battery capacity for the iPhone 8/8 Plus comprises of a Non-removable Li-Ion 1821/2675 mAh battery respectively. A slight reduction in the battery capacity for the iPhone 8 compared to its predecessor.
The iPhone 8/8 Plus comes with fast-charging capabilities, giving you 50% of charge in just 30 minutes. With 14 hours talk time for the iPhone 8 and 21 hours talk time for the iPhone 8 Plus on full charge.
Also, thanks to its glass back the iPhone 8/8 Plus also offers wireless charging, enabling you to top up your phone without having to fumble around for a cable.
Just like its predecessor, the iPhone 8/8 Plus retained its front mounted Fingerprint unlocking sensor with an unlock speed of 0.1 seconds.

I will be making the price of the iPhone 8 based on the official price and also converting to Naira based on the current $ to Naira rate which is around N360. The iPhone 8 which comes in two variants with memory (inbuilt) of 64GB and 256GB because their price will obviously be different.

The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus will be sold on September 22. You can pre-order the new device from today, September 15 in the UK, US and a few other countries. iOS 11 will be available to download from September 19.
iPhone X pre-orders will begin on 27 October, with shipping to begin 3 November and will be sold for £999 and £1,149 in the UK, respectively. Pricing in the US starts at $999
