Infinix Mobility, earlier this month, released its newest Hot series smartphone, ‘Infinix Hot 5 and Hot 5 lite, in Nigeria.
The new Infinix Hot 5 & Hot 5 lite is promoted as Nigeria’s first Mobile cinema smartphone, which ensures real time mobile viewing with its 5.5HD display, dual front speakers and 3D Dirac stereo to enable users optimise their mobile experience. Infinix’s retail partners, Jumia and Slot are exclusively handling the online and offline sales of the phones. Here’s our review of the phone below-
Performance:
No changes in the processor speed, maintained its 1.3GHz Quad-Core MediaTek processor from their predecessor, equipped with a 2Gb RAM for Hot 5 and 1Gb RAM for Hot 5 Lite.
Major improvement noted here from its predecessor is its upgrade to Infinix exclusive operating system XOX 2.2 based on Android 7.0 Nougat. Also comes with 16GB internal memory with an SD card slot expandable up to 32GB.
Camera:
No changes in the camera compared to its predecessor. The Infinix Hot 5/Hot 5 Lite comes with an 8Mp Rear camera with multiple shooting modes and a 5Mp Front camera, both cameras come with flash.
Design and Display:
Just like its predecessor (Hot 4), the Infinix Hot 5/Hot 5 Lite maintains its 5.5-inch HD IPS screen, with a slight improvement in graphics, also no changes in the screen resolution, maintained its 720×1280 pixels like its predecessor. One major change is the design which is almost completely different from that of the Hot 4, it now looks sleeker and easier to hold.
Connectivity:
The Hot 5/Hot 5 Lite disappointingly did not come with 4G LTE as many Infinix fans wanted, it still has just 3G network which means the internet speed will be just average.
Battery:
Equipped with a 4000mAh battery, similar to that of its predecessor and also retains its fast charging feature.
Security:
The Hot 5 still retained the fingerprint sensor with a quick unlock speed of 0.2 seconds, and has dual speakers and a Dirac 3D Stereo Surrounding
Pros
The Hot 5 currently falls within a few good Android devices equipped with 2Gb RAM under N40,000
Cons
In this era when Network speed is key, capped at 3G, Infinix opted out the 4G Network for the hot 5/hot 5 Lite, giving it a limitation in browsing speed.
